Sunny Deol starrer Gadar 2 is one of the highly anticipated releases of 2023. The movie is a sequel to Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, released in 2001, and is one of the most iconic films in Bollywood. Fans are eagerly anticipating the release of this movie’s sequel.

Release Date

Speaking to PinkVilla, Director Anil Sharma said that the film is a sentimental favorite among the people and will be released on August 11 as scheduled. He emphasized that Gadar 2 is more than just a movie; it’s an emotional experience. The film’s team is currently in post-production and preparing for the release date. Although there are speculations about other movies releasing on the same day, producer Anil Sharma said that they are not concerned about it and are focused only on releasing Gadar 2 as planned.


Gadar 2 Storyline

“Gadar: Ek Prem Katha,” released in 2001, was a big hit and its sequel is likely to be one of this year’s biggest releases. The sequel continues the story of the historical drama film Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. In the first film in the series, truck driver Tara Singh falls in love with a Muslim girl he protects during India’s partition. He crossed the border for his beloved wife Sakeena to get her back to India. Finally, they returned to India after his father-in-law eventually recognized their love.

Speaking of the movie’s plot, Gadar 2 will put a lot of focus on the unbreakable bond between a father and son. The story of Tara Singh and his wife Sakeena will likely continue in the upcoming Gadar 2 as they are now the parents of an adult Jeete. It’s interesting to note that Utkarsh Sharma, who played their son in the prequel 20 years ago, is reprising the role. He plays the role of an Indian Soldier.

According to reports, the story will leap ahead 20 years, to the India-Pakistan war in 1971. This time, Tara Singh will cross the border for his son’s life rather than his beloved wife Sakeena. Tara Singh crosses the border and heads up to Pakistan to bring his son, Charanjeet, back during the 1971 Indo-Pakistani War.

Anil Sharma is the director of the Bollywood historical drama Gadar 2. The Hero: Love Story of a Spy, Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Saathiyo, Apne, Veer and Singh Saab the Great are among his filmography credits. Shaktimaan Talwar wrote the screenplay. Superstars Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel, and Utkarsh Sharma will return to the big screen in the film after 20 years.
